Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is set to miss his side's next two games amid the possibility that he could be sidelined for the rest of the season.
Rooney was left limping with a knee injury after colliding with teammate Ander Herrera during Sunday's 3-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park and it is reported that initial assessments suggest a two-week lay-off.
This means Rooney will miss Saturday's home clash with West Bromwich and the following weekend's trip to Crystal Palace.
But Rooney, who has an eye on summer fixtures for England, could also miss the home clash with top-four rivals Arsenal and the final day's game against Hull City at the KC Stadium if he fails to recover swiftly.
