Burley said: "It was a good exercise, we were able to blood one or two new players, to look at some new partnerships. We certainly learned a lot and it was a good workout."
Meanwhile, Manchester United centre-half Jonny Evans was pleased with the attitude of his Northern Irish team-mates: "We came here to do a job. Since I've come in to the squad, there's been a tremendous work ethic."
His comments were reiterated by manager Nigel Worthington who was delighted with his side's performance away from home.
He said: "It was a very solid performance. I've had a blueprint tonight of how to knick points away from home. Their discipline and shape was first class."
