Manchester United have been encouraged in their interest for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Kevin Strootman.
Strootman has been watched by United for the past 12 months.
Zenit St Petersburg are also keen and preparing a £12 million offer for the Dutchman.
But sources in Italy claim that the midfielder may spurn interest from Zenit as he is keen on plying his trade in England.
