Manchester United winger Ashley Young has hailed the form of Wayne Rooney this season.

Rooney scored his 200th United goal against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek to join an elite band of double centurions at Old Trafford.

"Wayne has been fantastic for us since the start of the season," Young told the Daily Star.

"The way he has gone about his job has been great. It's not just his goalscoring abilities, it's his all-round play and his workrate for the team.

"When you have a world class striker like him on form, as is Robin van Persie as well, it's brilliant for the team.

"Wayne and Robin have been brilliant. Their link-up play is something else and it's absolutely great to have them in the team.

"As a winger, I see players like them in the penalty area and I just want to feed them with the ball. There is no better feeling as a winger than to set one of them up.

"In addition to Wayne and Robin, you have the likes of Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez which leaves the manager with so many options up front."
