Manchester United winger Nani confirmed last night the players were banned from speaking to the media after defeat to Real Madrid.

Nani was prepared to discuss his red card with waiting reporters, but all players were gagged by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"We are not allowed to say anything," he said as he made his way through the mixed zone.
