Manchester United have won a minor battle with the Football Association regarding Luke Shaw.
The 19-year old left-back was left out of the England U21 side for this summer's European Championships in the Czech Republic much to the wishes of Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.
Shaw was concussed in last weekend's clash with Crystal Palace with Young Lions boss Gareth Southgate citing his omission on medical advice. Regardless of why Shaw was not picked, United's van Gaal will be delighted as he wanted the former Southampton star to rest this summer rather than be involved in the UEFA U21 tournament.
