Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is lining up a move for Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
The People says United are ready to offer Inter about £20million for their keeper.
A deal could be struck in January but, with Cesar cup-tied in the Champions League, it is more likely United will try to tempt him next summer.
Cesar, 30, made his name with Flamengo in his homeland before joining Inter in 2004.
He is top of Ferguson's list of targets, with Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes his back-up if Inter price Cesar out of a move.
