Manchester United are exploring the prospect of tempting Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford. The Daily Star says reports on the continent suggest Louis van Gaal is keen to make France international Pogba his big statement signing with United's moneymen prepared to pay up to £77m next summer for his services.

The 21-year-old trebled his wages when he extended his Juventus contract until 2019 in October but it is thought the Serie A champions could find it hard to refuse such a lucrative offer from United.

Pogba joined Juventus from the Red Devils in 2012 after refusing to sign a new deal.
