Ryan Tunnicliffe says he's always been a Manchester United fan.

Currently on-loan at Peterborough United, Tunnicliffe was keen to deny some misplaced speculation regarding his childhood allegiance and set the record straight on that subject.

"I support United so I get to watch them whenever I can," he told ManUtd.com. "When I'm not playing, I'll often watch it with Scotty [Wootton].

"[Was I a fan of City?] No chance! I think, when I was younger, I did an interview after I played with England with school and said my Dad supported City when I was a kid.

"But my Mum liked United so it was a bit half and half growing up. They took that as me being from the City side, which was a bit upsetting!"
