Bordeaux president Jean Louis Triaud isn't giving up on keeping hold of star striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Morocco international is off contract in June and was watched by Manchester United scouts on the weekend. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City were also linked with Chamakh this week.
Aware of the big club interest, Triaud said: "He has convinced us that he wants to extend his contract. Our commitment to him is that we'll wait right through to the end of the season to do this."
French sources say the interest of United and Arsenal may force a rethink from Chamakh about staying with his French club.
