West Ham United development coach Nick Haycock played Reece Oxford in their friendly against Norwich City yesterday.
The match was primarily arranged for Kevin Nolan as he continued his comeback from a shoulder injury.
But Oxford, 15, and the subject of intense speculation linking him with Manchester United, also featured in the defeat.
Haycock told whufc.com: "I think the back three did very well, they haven't played together as a three before. With Reece, it's easy to forget he's only 15 years of age."
