Southampton have been frustrated in attempts to open new contract talks with Nathaniel Clyne.

ESPN reports Clyne has put contract talks with the club on hold amid interest from Manchester United.

The England right back has been in fine form this season for the Saints which has apparently seen United emerge as a summer suitor.

The club are keen to tie the 23-year-old down to a new long-term deal with the club but the player himself is apparently not so keen.
