Man Utd subs in skirmish with Liverpool stewards

Manchester United could face a probe involving their substitutes AFTER defeat at Liverpool yesterday.

The Times says a bad day for United got worse on the final whistle when Gary Neville and Jonny Evans, two of their unused substitutes, were involved in a minor dispute with Liverpool stewards, who stopped them warming down in front of their fans. The pair eventually trained at the other end of the pitch.

This came after United's 2-0 defeat at Anfield, where Nemanja Vidic was sent off for the third time against Liverpool.

A typically competitive and controversial encounter was settled by second-half goals from Fernando Torres and David Ngog that halted a run of four consecutive defeats for Rafael Benítez's side and kept their Barclays Premier League title hopes alive.
