Manchester United striker Kiko Macheda is in the clear over his "coatto" description of Wayne Rooney.
What was missed yesterday was not only the poor translation from Italian to English, but also that Macheda described himself by the same word.
Italian journalist Gabriele Marcotti tweeted: "I'm shocked by how badly Macheda's statements have been mistranslated. He says, "Like me, he's 'coatto'." 'Coatto' is Roman slang... basically brash, unrefined, working class kid. And Kiko says Rooney is 'coatto' like him. Both kids from working class districts in big metro areas."
