Preston North End caretaker boss David Unsworth has been left high and dry by Manchester United and Stoke City.
Everton legend Unsworth is reeling after losing FIVE loan players in two days.
Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson dragged back Ritchie de Laet and Josh King in the wake of North End sacking his son Darren on Wednesday.
And now Fergie's pal Tony Pulis has added to Unsworth's woes by cutting short Stoke duo Michael Tonge and Danny Pugh's loan stint at Deepdale.
But it is understood Pulis has strongly denied the move has anything to do with supporting Sir Alex.
Instead he has recalled the pair as cover for his injury-strapped squad.
