Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo admits he's no fan of English soaps.

Ronaldo says he cannot understand why the British public are obsessed by 'Coronation Street'.

"I promise I will watch it next time it is on and I am home," said Ronaldo.

"I didn't know what Coronation Street was when I came here - actually I didn't know what it was for the first two years."

He said that he already recognises some of the younger cast from his nights out so it shouldn't be hard for him to get hooked.

Ron added: "If I do, maybe it will make me a real Manchester citizen.

"I will have to ask WAYNE ROONEY if he watches it, although I don't think he will admit it because it is a show mainly for women, right?"
