Manchester United staff are overseeing Mason Greenwood's preseason training.
The forward is waiting on United making a final decision over whether he can rejoin the squad after being cleared of assault earlier this year.
Greenwood is training away from the club, but to a programme set by United staff in the event he is clear to return officially return to the club.
The Sun says Greenwood has spoken more than once with boss Erik ten Hag.
Hopes of a playing return, after charges against him including attempted rape were dropped, have been raised by the talks.
Recently Greenwood, 21, and partner Harriet Robson welcomed a baby girl.
