Man Utd skipper Evra: We can't start slowly against Newcastle

Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra says the cannot afford another slow start against Newcastle United.

Following defeats to Everton and Tottenham, the Reds do not want to be losing any more ground at the top of the table ahead of another international break.

When asked by MUTV about the tendency to often concede first this season, Evra replied: "It's not a worry but I will say it's a bad habit.

"The positive thing is we can say we have had a good reaction but, in football, it's better to act not react - that's what my old coach taught me. We have to make sure on Sunday against Newcastle that we don't go behind and ensure we score first and, afterwards, control the game.

"I think last year was a disaster at Newcastle. We played very badly and lost 3-0. This year it's going to be really important. We've already lost against Tottenham and have to react. We must have a big reaction against Newcastle but it's not an easy game. We just need to be focused on trying to score first and making sure we control the game."
