Louis van Gaal is remaining coy on the Manchester United future of Danny Welbeck.
Reports suggest that the Dutch manager told the 23-year old England forward that he can leave Old Trafford prior to the end of August but the Red Devils boss was calm regarding the conversation between he, the player and assistant manager Ryan Giggs.
"The media were not in the room and I do not speak about that because that's private," he said.
"I know what I said to Danny and Danny knows exactly what I said to him.
"I assume that Danny Welbeck is not saying anything about our conversation and also in that conversation was Ryan Giggs and he doesn't say (anything) either, and that is the way it should be."
Welbeck has been with United since he was 11 years old, apart from loan spells with Preston North End (in 2010) and Sunderland (in 2010/11). He has scored 29 goals in 139 appearances for the Red Devils.
