Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has suggested that Danny Welbeck was not a good enough goalscorer at Old Trafford.
The 23-year old striker was sold to Arsenal for £16million on deadline day after a long stay with United and new Red Devils manager van Gaal indicated that he was not too sad to see him go.
"Danny Welbeck had been here since he was nine, but after he came back from Sunderland, he does not have the record of (Wayne) Rooney or (Robin) van Persie, and that is the standard," said the Dutchman.
"And we have (Radamel) Falcao. Today, in training, he had one chance and it is a goal. That's why we had to let him (Welbeck) go."
During his time with United, former Preston North End and Sunderland loanee Welbeck scored 29 goals in 142 appearances in all competitions.
