Man Utd's QPR loanee Macheda charged for Twitter remarks

Federico Macheda has been fined by the Football Association for making a homophobic comment on social networking site Twitter.

The Italian striker, on loan to QPR from Manchester United, has been hit with a £15,000 fine after being found guilty of using 'an abusive and/or insulting word including a reference to a person's sexual orientation.'

Macheda was also in hot water with R's boss Mark Hughes for his reaction on the same website after he was not selected for the weekend's match against Everton.
