Man Utd's Owen sidelined for six weeks with thigh problem

Manchester United striker Michael Owen will be out of action for up to six weeks with a thigh injury.

The 31-year old sustained the problem early in the 2-0 Champions League win over Otelul Galati on November 2 and will now be out until at least Christmas.

"Michael has a thigh muscle injury and will be out for six weeks or so," a spokesman told the club's official website.

It is another injury in a long line of problems for Owen who comes out of contract with United at the end of the season.
