Man Utd's Ferdinand hails 'phenomenal' Park

Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand has hailed the contribution of South Korean midfielder Park Ji-sung.

The 30-year old put the finishing touches on the Champions League 3-1 aggregate win over Chelsea at Old Trafford last night with a vital goal when the tie was still in the balance.

Park was today saluted by Ferdinand who admitted he was astonished by the amount of running the former PSV Eindhoven man does.

"The lads in the changing room sometimes sit there and laugh at the amount of work that Ji gets through because it is just ridiculous," Ferdinand told the Manchester Evening News.

"We just want to know what he eats pre-match and at home. He must have a different diet to all of us because the way he runs and the energy he has got is phenomenal.

"It is great to see and have as a part of your team. He is definitely an unsung hero.

"Ji scores goals in big games. The manager just seems to pick him all the time in the big games and he just delivers. He doesn't get all the headlines but he is appreciated by his team-mates."
