Michael Carrick suggests that the England national team need a long-term manager in order to be successful.
The Manchester United midfielder experienced unbridled success under the recently retired Sir Alex Ferguson so is well-versed to know that stability is the key to achieving glory.
"I think stability helps at any level of football, whether it is club or international," said Carrick in regards to the Three Lions.
"Take (incoming United boss) David Moyes at Everton, look at what he has achieved being there for a long time.
"It breeds a comfort and everyone knows where they stand, you can get a bit of continuity."
