Manchester United will be without Marcel Sabitzer for the rest of the season.
The Austrian, who has been on loan at the club from Bayern Munich since January, has likely kicked his last ball for the Red Devils.
The 29-year-old has a meniscus problem in his knee that requires him to rest and go through rehabilitation.
Per the Manchester Evening News, United may even send Sabitzer back to Bayern for his rehab, as he has a contract with the Germans for the long-term.
United did intend to explore signing him permanently earlier in his loan spell.
However, the injury has likely put paid to that idea, given the club will be operating on a limited budget this summer.
