Manchester United are set to offer Robin van Persie a new deal according to reports.
The Daily Star is of the belief that the Red Devils will look to tie down the Dutch striker until the summer of 2018, adding two years to the current deal which expires in June 2016.
It is understood that Louis van Gaal is not convinced by the fitness of Radamel Falcao who is on loan from Monaco but had been linked with a permanent move to Old Trafford in the summer.
The Colombian has managed just three Premier League starts this season as his troublesome knee continues to give him problems which has prompted van Gaal to extend the stay of former Arsenal captain van Persie.
