Man Utd, Nike hatch plan to secure Ronaldo BEFORE season end

Manchester United have a plan off attack to meet Cristiano Ronaldo's demands and lure him back from Real Madrid BEFORE the end of the season. The Sunday Telegraph says it is understood both United and Ronaldo are open to the possibility of a summer transfer.

However, United must overcome Real's plans to begin contract talks with Ronaldo at the end of this season if they are to have any hope of re-signing the player.

With United currently negotiating a new kit deal with Nike, whose current contract expires in 2015, the opportunity for the American sportswear giant to restore their leading football player to a Nike-wearing team has given both parties common ground for discussion on the possibility of funding a move for Ronaldo.

While other sportswear manufacturers such as Adidas and Warrior could attempt to outbid Nike for the right to supply United's kit, Nike are currently in a period of exclusivity with United which enables them to thrash out a new deal before their rivals.

United and Nike hope to convince Ronaldo to seek a move out of Real before their president Florentino Perez initiates talks over a new deal in June.

Are Nike the key to the Ronaldo deal? How realistic is this? Give us your shout below...
