Manchester United see Atletico Madrid fullback Kieran Trippier as a summer transfer target.
The Athletic says United have held talks with Trippier, with the former Spurs right back open to making a return to the Premier League.
Any potential move for Trippier would not come until next summer, with the full back recently being handed a ten week ban from football for breaking FA rules on betting.
United are short on cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right back, although Atletico Madrid are reportedly reluctant to part ways with Trippier.
Diego Simeone is a big fan of the England right back, who has established himself as a key man in the Atletico side who currently sit top of La Liga, with two games in hand on second place Real Madrid.
