Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard has been warned regarding his next move by national team boss Per-Mathias Hogmo.
The 15-year old Stromsgodset attacking midfielder, who has remarkably already represented Norway at senior level, has attracted interest from such clubs as Manchester United, Liverpool and French side Monaco.
As Odegaard prepares with his Norway teammates for this weekend's Euro2016 qualifiers with Malta and Bulgaria, Hogmo suggested that he should concentrate on improving at club level before thinking about heading to one of Europe's bigger leagues.
"He has already made his debut with the national team, but also at club level, he will have to take a step forward," said Hogmo.
"He is a special talent, but it is not easy to say what would be the next best move. He has two choices.
"Whether he goes to a mid-range club that helps his development, such as Ajax, or he goes directly to an absolute top club.
"You can see that most players that take the second route don't usually succeed."
Odegaard made his Norway debut in a friendly against the UAE in August and has thus far notched 21 appearances for Stromsgodset, scoring three goals and providing six assists.
