Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy has urged David Moyes to buy a new striker from France.

Van Nistelrooy says either PSG ace Edinson Cavani or AS Monaco's Radamel Falcao would do the job.

The Daily Express says he told French journalist Pierre Menes: "Cavani? I think he is a very good player.

"In my view, he would be a very good signing, but he has also recently signed for a big team.

"It will be expensive. But there is also Falcao, he may be an option for a pure number nine, to score goals.

"I think that with Van Persie and Rooney, David Moyes needs more than just a big scorer in his team."
