Man Utd legend Scholes: Arsenal happy to finish fourth every year

Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes believes Arsenal are not ambitious enough.

The Gunners have lifted just one piece of silverware (last year's FA Cup) since 2005 which suggests to Red Devils great Scholes that perhaps Arsene Wenger's side are happy to just go with the flow.

Scholes and his United teammates often competed with the north Londoners for the Premier League title but he feels that things at the Emirates Stadium have changed in recent times.

'It is hard when you have a recent history as successful as Arsenal were under Arsene Wenger in his first 10 years at the club,' wrote Scholes in The Independent.

'Hard in that you will always be compared to great teams of the past - as the current United team are just finding out now.

'My issue with Arsenal is that I don't think they are striving to be like the great teams of theirs who used to battle us for the league title.

'They seem happy to finish fourth every year.'
