Manchester United legend Bryan Robson is impressed by the captaincy of Wayne Rooney.
Robbo was dubbed 'Captain Marvel' during his time at Old Trafford.
"I have always said that I thought Wayne Rooney would be good material," Robson told the Manchester Evening News.
"He leads by example and is always passionate about the game. That is exactly what you want from your skipper. I had no doubts he'd be a great choice.
"I was a little concerned when he had that moment against West Ham. I thought to myself you just cannot do that Wayne. I thought he had got that kind of red card out of his system. When he was in his early 20s that kept cropping up but I thought he'd gone past that.
"It taught him a lesson. It has done him good. I think we saw a different Wayne, for instance, against Arsenal in the incident that flared up between Marouane Fellaini and Jack Wilshere. Wilshere should have been sent off and I reckon the old Wayne Rooney would have been in the thick of it fighting and trying to get someone the red card. Instead he was calming Wilshere down and ensuring the whole thing didn't get out of hand. I thought that was a good sign of a captain maturing in the role."
