Manchester United legend Bryan Robson admits talk of a move for Barcelona ace Cesc Fabregas excites him.

United made a bid of £26 million for Cesc yesterday.

Robbo told the Manchester Evening News: "From my point of view I started to get excited when I heard about Cesc Fabregas possibly coming back to England and United were linked with him.

"You have to look at the balance of the midfield and what Michael Carrick gives you, what Tom Cleverley and Anderson give you and for me Fabregas is would be really good for United.

"He is a great footballer. He is entertaining to watch and creates and scores goals. He has come through the ranks and has had his time in England with Arsenal so settling in wouldn't be a problem."
