Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has backed Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard for the England captaincy at this summer's Euros.
Robbo skippered his country 65 times between 1983 and 1991.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: "Steven has done a fantastic job for Liverpool as their captain. He leads by example.
"And he's been a great player for England, too. For me, as long as he's fit going into the Euros, he is the one who should be our captain because he's always going to be in the starting eleven.
"Knowing your captain is going to be playing every game is very important for the national manager."
