Manchester United legend Roy Keane is in advanced talks to take over at Sunderland.

The former Republic of Ireland and United captain, who has managed Sunderland in the past, is close to taking on the role again.

According to the Daily Mail, Keane and the Black Cats are finalising talks, but the club are still speaking to other coaches as a Plan B.

The 50-year-old is the club's preferred choice, while Sunderland would prefer the initial contract run to the end of the season.

Keane has often spoken about wanting to get back into management during his time as a pundit on television.
