Man Utd legend Keane pushed for Wales job by FAW chief

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has been wanted by the Wales FA.

Wales FA chief exec Noel Mooney is a big fan of Keane and sees him as a replacement for coach Rob Page, says The Sun.

Irishman Mooney believes countryman Keane is ideal and raised his hiring after Wales' 4-2 Euro 2024 qualifier home loss to Armenia in June.

However, FAW officials insisted they not panic and continue to back Page in Euros qualifying.

Former Sunderland boss Keane has not held a coaching role for over four years since his brief stint with Nottingham Forest in 2019.
