Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson is critical of Rio Ferdinand's off-the-field activities in his new autobiography.
The Daily Mail reports Ferguson did take issue with the player's wide-ranging off-the-field interests.
"His life expanded in more directions than we were happy with" he writes before revealing that he warned Ferdinand that he would "not be with us much longer" if he didn't change.
But he credits Ferdinand with responding the correct way to the warning and agreeing with the player's agent to keep the club fully informed of all his other activities.
