Paul Scholes has been left out of the Manchester United squad for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Real Madrid.
The Red Devils have travelled to Madrid for the Round of 16 first leg but will be without veteran midfielder Scholes who has been sidelined with a knee problem since late last month.
Scholes was not included in Sir Alex Ferguson's 22-man squad, however, winger Ashley Young did make the trip after shrugging off a knee injury of his own.
The likes of Phil Jones, Jonny Evans and Michael Carrick are also in the squad after slight injury doubts.
