Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is unlikely to sign Ben Foster in the January transfer window. Redknapp has stated that he may look to bring in a new goalkeeper to act as cover for the improving Heurelho Gomes.

United chief, Sir Alex Ferguson, rates Foster as an exciting prospect and he is set to keep the youngster to provide competition for Edwin van der Sar.

Redknapp told Sky Sports News: "He is a top goalkeeper but he is going to cost an awful lot of money so he is not going to want to come as cover.

"I wouldn't think Sir Alex would really want to sell him so I don't really see that one as being a goer."
