Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster is happy with his progress from knee surgery.
He is halfway through his rehabilitation programme after being told he would be out of action for eight months.
Foster said: "It was nice to see him again last week when United played Roma. He asked me how I was doing.
"He is keeping track of me and how I am progressing. That is always nice to know.
"Hopefully when I am back fit and playing I will be back in his plans again."
Foster admits he was stunned to find how severe the injury was, especially as he was returning to Old Trafford following a successful loan spell at Watford.
He said: "Two months before the end of last season I was getting pain in the right knee.
"Something did not feel right but I did not think it was as big as the injury I have now.
"When I turned up for England in the summer they sent me for a scan and confirmed any worst fears.
"It is the second time I have done it on this knee which is unusual.
"I was looking at eight months out which was an absolute shock. You have just got to get your head around it.
"I am recovering well. There have been no complications, no twinges."
