Manchester United and Newcastle are being linked with a shock move for Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese has experienced a poor season in the Bundesliga after signing for the German giants a year ago.

Mane, a former Liverpool player, is up for sale according to Sky Sport Germany.

Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg states Newcastle is a “hot option," especially if they are in the Champions League next season.

Man United would be unusual bidders for Mane, given his many years spent winning trophies at Liverpool.

United, however, are in the market for a forward and may see Mane as someone who is Premier League proven.
