Manchester United identities were delighted for Wayne Rooney over his spectacular derby winner yesterday. The goal is being dubbed the best to ever be seen at Old Trafford.
United legend Dwight Yorke said: "The technique required for that skill is immense. Nine times out of 10 that goes out of the ground. I couldn't be happier for Wayne."
United teammate Rio Ferdinand tweeted: "Wow...what a goal by ROOOOOOONEY!!! What a way to win the derby!! Every one of us class. Nani MOM with 1 goal 1 assist . . . what a player."
United No2 Mike Phelan said: "It was a goal fitting to win any derby. A goal befitting the stadium, the player and the derby. That was execution at its best."
