Man Utd hero Mata caught up in Real Madrid scandal after latest Florentino soundbites released

Manchester United veteran Juan Mata has been caught up in Real Madrid president Florentino Perez's audio scandal.

In the latest round of soundbites published by El Confidencial, Perez blasts then Real Madrid B manager Michel for, in his view, forcing Mata out of the club in 2007.

Michel himself is a Real Madrid icon, making more than 550 appearances for the club between 1981 and 1996, placing him joint tenth in the club's all-time appearance list alongside Karim Benzema.

The leaked audio dates back to 2009, as Perez can be heard blaming Michel for the Castilla side's failings as well as accusing the coach of forcing Mata out of Madrid in order to play his son, Adrian.

"I think Michel is the one who made the hole for Mata [to leave], he is the one who threw him out of Real Madrid Castilla to put his son in the team," claims Perez. "He is a fraud!"

A tape from three years earlier reveals Perez' thoughts on Michel as a coach even further, where he can be heard claiming "He is a very bad coach, a guy who has done nothing. He is not a coach."
