Sir Alex Ferguson has denied suggestions that he told Manchester United to hire David Moyes.
The Scottish tactician was replaced by his fellow countryman in the summer of 2013 with plenty of critics of the belief that Moyes' appointment came at the behest of the Old Trafford great.
"There appears to be an accepted view out there that there was no process. Nonsense," wrote Fergie in his updated autobiography of the claims that he instructed the club to appoint Moyes from Everton.
"We feel we did everything the right way: quietly, thoroughly, professionally."
However, the decision to hire Moyes did not work out for United as the Scotsman was relieved of his duties less than 12 months after taking over.
