Man Utd great Rooney slams Tottenham: They're holding Kane like a PRISONER

DC United coach Wayne Rooney has enjoyed a swipe at Tottenham and their chairman Daniel Levy over the Harry Kane transfer saga.

Rooney would love to see Kane join his old club Manchester United, though knows Levy is determined not to see that happen.

"Harry Kane would be the ideal player, for me, to go and join Manchester United," Rooney, who is currently manager at DC United and will tonight take charge of the MLS All-Star XI against Arsenal, told The Athletic.

"It looks like he's being held as a prisoner at Tottenham! It looks very difficult for him to get out of there.

"If Manchester United have Harry Kane, then that gives their chances of going to win, and compete, a lot easier. But where that happens, remains to be seen."
