Man Utd great Neville breaks down quality skill set Depay brings

Gary Neville has dissected the qualities of Manchester United signing Memphis Depay.

The former Red Devils skipper has seen enough of the 21-year old Dutch winger to know what he has in his arsenal ahead of his summer move to Old Trafford.

Neville has identified the wings as an area where Louis van Gaal's side needs help and feels the addition of Depay will go a long way to solving that issue.

"They do need strength in that area. So what United are buying is potential, obviously someone who has scored goals in the Dutch league, but looking at some of the clips, I think Dutch skilled wingers for me are by far the best at understanding their position," he said on Sky Sports' 'Monday Night Football'.

"In terms of his pace, his touch, his ability to score goals, his good movement... it is all about whether he can settle down in Manchester.

"He'll need some time and can transfer that ability he has shown for PSV into Manchester United. It is a completely different field.

"He's got a lot of different facets to his game, he's got a lot of different things in his armour."

Depay signed with United last week for a reported £25million after leading PSV Eindhoven to the Eredivisie title. He leads the Dutch top flight's scoring charts with 22 goals.
