Man Utd fullback Evra spells out determination to win FA Cup

Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra has spelt out how determined he is to win the FA Cup.

Despite the Reds' Champions League and Premier League double in 2008, the French left-back was glum when the team picture was taken because he hadn't won the Treble.

"I remember in 2008 and we won the Champions League and the Premier League and we were having our photos taken with the trophies and someone said to me, 'Patrice, you don't look happy'. I said: 'It's because we are missing the FA Cup'.

"I don't want to sound greedy but it was very frustrating that year to lose to Portsmouth in the quarter-finals when we really believed that we could win all three trophies.

"I was devastated. The FA Cup means so much and one day I hope I will win it. Hopefully this year.

"I was so happy when we beat West Ham, even though I didn't play in either of the games. I watched the away game on the TV and I was screaming when Robin scored.

"It is the only trophy I have not won at Manchester United. That seems impossible given that I am now in my seventh year here.

"The boss has given a big message this season - he really wants to win the FA Cup. He really wants it and so do we."
