Young left-back Alvaro Fernandez is still expected to leave Manchester United on loan.

The defender was considered as an option to stay at the club given their injury crisis in the position.

Both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are injured, while United are considering bringing in Marc Cucurella or Sergio Reguilon on loan.

Per the Manchester Evening News, Fernandez is one who manager Erik ten Hag wants to loan out.

As long as United does sign a left-back on loan, he will be moved to a club where he can play regularly.

His only chances of staying put involve United failing to bring in Cucurella or Reguilon.
