Manchester United face competition from Southampton for West Ham United junior Oscar Borg.
The Daily Express says the 16-year-old is current on trial at Old Trafford hoping to impress the club's youth coaches.
Borg, a left sided wing-back, is yet to sign as a scholar for the Hammers and would cost as little as £220,000 in line with youth player compensation laws.
Southampton, who ironically sold England's attacking left-back Luke Shaw to United for a fee rumoured to be £30m, are also keeping tabs on the youngster who West Ham academy coaches have apparently dubbed 'Gareth' due to his similar playing style to the Real Madrid star.
