Manchester United face competition from Juventus for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.

United have made enquiries about the former Chelsea prospect, though were unimpressed by Benfica's insistence that he can only leave for his €45 million buyout clause.

Matic, 24, is also interesting Juve coach Antonio Conte, though the Italians won't go higher than €10 million for the 24 year-old Serb.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has Matic under consideration as Paul Scholes' replacement.
